It's great fun to write stories for kids. They totally get it when you let them in on jokes, when you trust them to know that you're being cheesy or even a little bit absurd.
These particular stories were challenging. I was limited to using words that appeared in a list of about a thousand words. I ended up hacking the dictionary in one of my computers so that I'd know if I'd accidentally slipped a non-regulation word in.
